{"id":135332,"date":"2024-10-23T23:33:51","date_gmt":"2024-10-23T22:33:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/fuel-import-court-case-against-nnpcl-marketers-overtaken-by-event-dangote-refinery"},"modified":"2024-10-24T00:36:12","modified_gmt":"2024-10-23T23:36:12","slug":"fuel-import-court-case-against-nnpcl-marketers-overtaken-by-event-dangote-refinery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/economy\/fuel-import-court-case-against-nnpcl-marketers-overtaken-by-event-dangote-refinery","title":{"rendered":"Fuel import court case against NNPCL, marketers overtaken by event \u2014 Dangote Refinery"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Dangote Refinery has said that there is no fresh case against the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited and other petroleum marketers over the import of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol).<\/p>\n<p>The spokesperson of Dangote Dangote Group, Anthony Chiejina, disclosed this in a statement on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>His statement served as a clarification of the report making the round that Dangote Refinery had dragged NNPCL and petroleum marketers to the Federal High Court to void the latter\u2019s fuel import licences.<\/p>\n<p>Reacting, the Dangote Group spokesperson said that the matter has been overtaken by events.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is an old issue that started in June and culminated in a matter being filed on September 6, 2024.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCurrently, the parties are in discussion since President Bola Tinubu\u2019s directive on crude oil and refined products sales in naira initiative, which was approved by the Federal Executive Council, FEC.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have made tremendous progress in that regard and events have overtaken this development.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo party has been served with court processes and there is no intention of doing so. We have agreed to put a halt to the proceedings.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is important to stress that no orders have been made and there are no adverse effects on any party.
