{"id":135379,"date":"2024-10-24T10:35:55","date_gmt":"2024-10-24T09:35:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/court-remands-ss3-student-in-ondo-for-allegedly-killing-colleague"},"modified":"2024-10-24T11:43:18","modified_gmt":"2024-10-24T10:43:18","slug":"court-remands-ss3-student-in-ondo-for-allegedly-killing-colleague","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/all-news\/court-remands-ss3-student-in-ondo-for-allegedly-killing-colleague","title":{"rendered":"Court remands SS3 student in Ondo for allegedly killing colleague"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>A Chief Magistrate in Ondo State, Olateju Odenusi-Fadeyi, has remanded a 15-year-old female student of Anglican Grammar School, Arigidi Akoko, for allegedly stabbing her 17-year-old colleague, Habib Salau, to death.<\/p>\n<p>The magistrate ordered her remand at the Ondo State Juvenile Home in Akure, pending advice from the office of the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP).<\/p>\n<p>The magistrate, however, did not take her plea.<\/p>\n<p>The student is standing trial for allegedly stabbing the 17-year-old deceased, Habib Salau, with a knife during a scuffle between them after school hours.<\/p>\n<p>The defendant was brought to court on a two-count charge of conspiracy and murder.<\/p>\n<p>The Prosecutor, Josephine Awana, told the court that the young offender and one other, currently at large, conspired to commit murder on October 3, around 3:30 p.m., at Imo, Arigidi Akoko.<\/p>\n<p>Awana alleged that the defendant killed Salau by stabbing him with a knife during a fight.<\/p>\n<p>The prosecutor informed the court, \u201cThe defendant accused the deceased of accosting her on the way home after a misunderstanding between them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt resulted in a fight, and the defendant said someone gave her a knife and ordered her to stab the deceased in the neck.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The offences, according to the prosecution, contravene Sections 124 and 319(1) of the Criminal Code Laws of Ondo State, 2006.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About Nigeria Follow Africa-Press<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria.
