{"id":135740,"date":"2024-10-26T22:54:21","date_gmt":"2024-10-26T21:54:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/lifeless-body-of-girl-dumped-by-roadside-in-delta"},"modified":"2024-10-26T23:57:20","modified_gmt":"2024-10-26T22:57:20","slug":"lifeless-body-of-girl-dumped-by-roadside-in-delta","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/all-news\/lifeless-body-of-girl-dumped-by-roadside-in-delta","title":{"rendered":"Lifeless body of girl dumped by roadside in Delta"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>A girl identified as Precious Yusuf has been found dead in Asaba, in Oshimili South Local Government Area of Delta State.<\/p>\n<p>The body of the deceased was found by the roadside opposite Falcon Club, Asaba.<\/p>\n<p>Her waist region was covered with a black and white cloth, suggestive of alleged mutilation of her private part for ritual purposes.<\/p>\n<p>She had reportedly gone to visit a guy she met on a dating site, iHappy Dating, on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Koka Junction, Asaba, the state capital and never returned.<\/p>\n<p>According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, the deceased informed a friend of her movement.<\/p>\n<p>The statement read: \u201cDelta State Police Command condoles with the family of Miss Precious Yusuf, 23, whose corpse was found along DLA Road opposite Falcon Club Asaba.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn the 24th of October 2024 at about 0840 hours, the DPO of A division Asaba received a distress call that the corpse of a young lady was found at DLA Road opposite Falcon Club.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe DPO CSP Rex Abiodun swiftly mobilized and led police operatives of the division to the scene where the corpse of the lady was found.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPreliminary investigation revealed that on 22nd October 2024, she told her friend that she was going to see a male friend she met on iHappy dating website.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe left the house on 22nd October to see the young man at Coka. On the 23rd at about 0730 hours, she called her friend that she was on her way home and that was unfortunately the last time she made any contact, only for her corpse to be found the next day.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe corpse has been deposited at the mortuary awaiting autopsy.
