1. Five ministers of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) have been abducted. They were kidnapped on their way to attend the church\u2019s Ministers\u2019 Conference in Lagos. Pastor Enoch Adeboye announced the abduction on Friday.<\/p>\n
2. The Catholic Parish Priest of St. James the Greater Parish, Ugbawka, in Enugu state, Rev FR Paul Offu, was on Friday, killed by suspected Fulani herdsmen. He was reportedly shot on Thursday evening. Offu hailed from Okpatu in Udi LGA of Enugu State.<\/p>\n
3. The Inspector General of Police, IGP, Mohammed Adamu, Friday ordered massive manhunt for the killers of Rev. Father Paul Offu, a Catholic Priest in charge of St. James the Greater Parish Catholic Church Ugbawka in Enugu state. Also a crack detectives from the IGP-Intelligence Response Unit (IRT), the Forensic and Homicide sections of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) have been deployed to Enugu State. The deployed teams were directed to complement the Command in their investigations into the unfortunate incident.<\/p>\n
4. Former National Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Professor Muhammad Attahiru Jega and other prominent Nigerians have agreed together to reposition the Peoples Redemption Party, PRP. In a statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary of PRP, Abdul Gombe, said Professor Jega is to chair the SWOT analysis Committee of the party. The SWOT analysis committee would critically examine the strength of PRP, its weakness and the opportunities available to the party as well as threats to it\u2019s existence and well-being.<\/p>\n
5. President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday lambasted Atiku Abubakar, 2019 Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate over his remarks on the report of 1,000 soldiers killed and secretly buried in the North East. Buhari, who spoke through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, insisted that Atiku\u2019s comment gave \u201chim out as someone who denigrates the country\u2019s democracy, which he was part of building, in his heyday, before unbridled ambition blinded.\u201d<\/p>\n

The General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries International, Apostle Johnson Suleman on Friday, expressed his anger over the recent abduction of five ministers of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) who were kidnapped on their way to attend the church\u2019s Ministers\u2019 Conference in Lagos.
\nSuleiman called on God to \u2018frustrate the agenda of the wicked men in Nigeria\u2019 over recent abduction.<\/p>\n
7. The Federal Government, on Friday postponed the planned closure of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway for repairs. The Federal Controller of Works in Lagos State, Mr Adedamola Kuti, announced that the closure has been moved from Aug. 3 to Sept. 2.<\/p>\n
8. Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun, yesterday, announced plans by governors of the South West Zone to operate a joint security team to patrol the entire region.
\nHe noted that no serious investor would be willing to commit funds in an area where they were not sure of the security of their lives and investments.<\/p>\n
9. The Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), on Friday, asked the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja to vacate the exparte order it made on July 26 proscribing its activities in the country. The court had, upon an ex-parte motion by the office of the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), also declared the group a terrorist organization. The IMN, in a notice of motion filed on Friday by its lawyer, Femi Falana, SAN, particularly sought the court to vacate the ex-parte order made on July 26, in Suit No: FHC\/ABJ\/CS\/876\/2019 between: AGF vs. IMN proscribing the existence and activities of the group.<\/p>\n
10. Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, security agencies and Religious Leaders have pledge to fish out killers of Rev. Father Paul Offu. They also agreed on air surveillance, review of state\u2019s security architecture, ban on illegal possession of arms in the state. Gov. Ugwuanyi upon receiving the unfortunate news of the incident summoned an emergency security meeting at the Government House, Enugu, which was attended by all the security agencies in the state, Archbishop Emmanuel Chukwuma of Enugu Ecclesiastical Province (Anglican Communion), representative of the Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Rev.
