Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Bandits have attacked the Turare community in Dutsin-ma Local Government Area of Katsina State.<\/p>\n

The bandits abducted an activist, Ibrahim Mai Katia, during the invasion.<\/p>\n

While the activist was shot, his two wives were abducted to an unknown destination.<\/p>\n

Kaita is known for his advocacy for good governance and has been a vocal and critical voice in efforts to improve the region.<\/p>\n

Banditry, kidnapping and terrorism have been on the rise in Katsina for the last few years, with many attacks unreported.<\/p>\n

The state government led by Umar Dikko Rada has also ramped up efforts aimed at addressing the situation with the creation of a Katsina Vigilante Service, a community policing initiative.<\/p>\n

The latest attack is an indication that more needs to be done to reverse the trend.<\/p>\n
