Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), has confirmed that a market around Ajah area of the state was engulfed by fire, destroying shops and goods worth millions of naira.<\/p>\n

Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, Permanent Secretary of the agency, confirmed this in a statement on Monday<\/p>\n

According to him, the fire incident occurred on Sunday night at Ajah Market by Alesh bus stop in Lekki, Lagos.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn arrival to the incident scene at 22.10hrs, it was discovered that several shops and stores housing combustible materials were engulfed by fire.<\/p>\n

\u201cInvestigations conducted revealed that the immediate cause of the fire could not yet be ascertained as at the time of writing this report.\u201d<\/p>\n

He further stated that there was no casualties or injuries recorded at the incident scene.<\/p>\n

He added that properties worth a fortune were destroyed in the inferno and the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service were able to curtail the fire from escalating to adjoining buildings.<\/p>\n
