Trump gained an unassailable lead with 266 Electoral College votes \u2013 four short of the 270 threshold before the congratulatory messages started pouring in.<\/p>\n

2. The death on Tuesday of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja has thrown the nation into mourning. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ordered flags to be flown at half-mast nationwide for seven days.<\/p>\n

3. Bandits on Wednesday abducted over 50 persons at Wanke and Gurusu villages of Gusau and Gummi Local Government Areas of Zamfara State. Locals said the victims were abducted in Wanke and environs while working on their farms and three others, along the Anka-Gurusu road in Anka Local Government Area of the state.<\/p>\n

6. Suspected gunmen have allegedly killed 10 persons in Wayam community of Sabon-Gari District in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State. It was learnt that the incident occurred on Tuesday in the early hours of the morning.<\/p>\n

7. Gunmen have abducted Rev Fr. Emmanuel Azubuike, the parish priest of St Theresa\u2019s Catholic Parish in Obollo Community, Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State. It was gathered on Wednesday that the victim was abducted on Tuesday night along the Ayayi community when he was returning from an assignment, according to church authorities.<\/p>\n

8. The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has killed two armed robbers during a gun duel and arrested four in the Jahi area of the nation\u2019s capital. Also, no fewer than five car snatchers were arrested and 13 stolen vehicles recovered during the operations conducted by the scorpion squad of the FCT command.<\/p>\n

9. Combined security operatives have reportedly neutralised four gunmen suspected to be members of the Indigenous People of Biafra and its armed militia, the Eastern Security Network. The operation took place in the early hours of Wednesday at Eha Alumona in Nsukka Local Government Area.<\/p>\n

10. The Zone 16 Police Command on Wednesday disclosed that it detained officers who were involved in the extortion of N10 million. A statement by the Zone 16 Police Public Relations Officer, SP Emonena Gunn, in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, hinted that the said officers have been in detention since October 30.<\/p>\n
