The catholic leader gave the teaching during his general audience, urging everyone to avoid praying like parrots.<\/p>\n

Pope Francis, instead, encouraged them to pray from their hearts, calling on the Holy Spirit to help guide their conversations with God.<\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t pray like parrots, please! Don\u2019t say \u2018blah, blah, blah\u2019. Say, \u2018Lord\u2019, but say it without your heart; \u2018help me, Lord.\u2019 \u2018I love you, Lord\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you pray \u2018our father\u2019, pray, \u2018father, you are my father\u2019. Pray with your heart and not with your lips. Don\u2019t act like parrots,\u201d the Supreme Pontiff said.<\/p>\n
