Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Customers yet to upgrade their metres stand to lose it after November 24, 2024, the management of Mainpower Electricity Distribution Limited (MEDL) announced on Friday.<\/p>\n

The advisory was issued on Friday through a statement issued by the management of MEDL.<\/p>\n

It said this was in compliance with the Token Identifier (TID) rollover, an exercise that affects all Standard Transfer Specification (STS) compliant prepaid meters across the globe.<\/p>\n

\u201cMainpower is urging the affected customers to recharge their prepaid meters to enable them to receive the three sets of 20-digit tokens needed to upgrade their meters.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are expected to punch in the first 20 digits and press \u201center\u201d, do the same for the second 20 digits, and the third 20 digits to complete the upgrading process.<\/p>\n

\u201cAny prepaid meter that is not upgraded before 24th November 2024 will cease to accept credit tokens, and the customer will lose the meter.<\/p>\n

\u201cNote that customers are not paying for meter upgrade, and those who have already upgraded their meters should please disregard this information,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n
