Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, has been elected as the National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW.<\/p>\n

MC Oluomo was the sole candidate in the election, which took place at the Union\u2019s Zonal Secretariat along the Osogbo\/Ikirun road, Osun State, on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Delegates from the four South-West states of Lagos, Ogun, Ondo and Ekiti participated in the election.<\/p>\n

MC Oluomo was the former chairman of NURTW, Lagos State Chapter, before his emergence as National President.<\/p>\n

Speaking after taking the oath of office, MC Oluomo urged the union members to allow peace reign and reiterated his commitment to unity in the union.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have forgiven everyone that offended me and I wish those I offended would forgive me as well.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is our union and we must be committed to its preservation. We will not allow anyone to destroy our means of livelihood,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
