Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Bauchi State Commissioner for Education, Dr Jamila Mohamed Dahiru, has chosen to forfeit her salary and allowances, redirecting the funds back to the government for departmental use.<\/p>\n

The gesture was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday by the Public Relations Officer of the Education Ministry, Jalaludeen Usman.<\/p>\n

According to the statement, the donation is part of the Commissioner\u2019s commitment to supporting the government\u2019s mission to elevate educational standards.<\/p>\n

The statement revealed that upon assuming office, Dr Dahiru identified areas in need of improvement within the Ministry of Education and, through her nonprofit organization, We Care Foundation, initiated a range of projects to enhance the ministry\u2019s facilities and services.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe Care Foundation led the renovation and furnishing of the Commissioner\u2019s office, the Confidential Secretary\u2019s office, and created a new office space for the Commissioner\u2019s Personal Assistant.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAdditional improvements included landscaping around the ministry\u2019s premises, the installation of a security barricade, and an attractive, easily identifiable signboard for the ministry.\u201d<\/p>\n

The statement further disclosed that the completed projects were officially handed over to the Ministry of Education on November 14, 2024, by Alhaji Saad Mohammed Dahiru, Co-founder of We Care Foundation.<\/p>\n

The Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Ali Babayo, accepted the handover documents, commending Dr. Dahiru\u2019s generosity and dedication.<\/p>\n

He commended Dr. Dahiru\u2019s commitment to creating a better working environment and advancing educational standards.<\/p>\n

Speaking on behalf of the Bauchi State Government and the Ministry of Education, Babayo expressed appreciation for the extensive infrastructure upgrades, which he noted would have a lasting positive impact on the ministry\u2019s operations.<\/p>\n
