Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>A former presidential spokesman, Dr. Doyin Okupe, has commended President Bola Tinubu for demonstrating brilliance, composure, and a good grasp of national issues during his maiden media chat.<\/p>\n

Okupe spoke with journalists on Wednesday in Lagos.<\/p>\n

He was reacting to Tinubu\u2019s first presidential media chat on Monday night, marking a significant moment in his administration\u2019s engagement with Nigerians.<\/p>\n

While Okupe commended the president for his brilliant performance during the media chat, the latter has come under criticism from Nigerians, particularly the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over some of the remarks credited to him during the briefing.<\/p>\n

The party in a statement issued on Tuesday night by his National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, for showing little concern about the current economic hardship in the country.<\/p>\n

The PDP also dismissed Tinubu\u2019s claim that Nigerians can now travel safely on the country\u2019s highways.<\/p>\n

But the former presidential aide insisted that the president put up a good show at the media chat.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cKudos to the President\u2019s media team on the first Presidential Media Chat.<\/p>\n

\u201cPresident Tinubu was bold, brilliant, and showed brightness in expressivity.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis, I dare say, he is a damn good President. And I should know, I worked for two past Presidents.\u201dBalanced, fearless journalism driven by data comes at huge financial costs.<\/p>\n
