Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed has sworn in eight newly appointed commissioners and reassigned four others in a bid to enhance governance and improve the effectiveness of his administration.<\/p>\n

The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Government House in Bauchi on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The oaths of allegiance and Oath of Office were administered to the commissioners by the Chief Judge, Justice Rabi Talatu Umar.<\/p>\n

Five of the newly appointed commissioners replaced outgoing members, while two filled vacancies created by the death of a former commissioner and the appointment of Alhaji Aminu Hammayo as Secretary to the State Government.<\/p>\n

Similarly, a commissioner was appointed to head the newly created Ministry of Livestock Development.<\/p>\n

Mohammed expressed gratitude to the outgoing commissioners for their service, some of whom were reassigned as Special Advisers.<\/p>\n

He urged the new appointees to prioritize transparency, accountability, and teamwork in their roles, noting that performance reviews would be frequent, with officials held accountable for any shortcomings.<\/p>\n

The newly appointed commissioners include Alhaji Usman Usman Shehu (Information & Communication), Dr. Iliyasu Aliyu Gital (Agriculture), Dr. Bala Musa Lukshi (Livestock Development).<\/p>\n

Others are Hon. Isa Babayo Tilde (Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs), Prof. Titus Saul Ketkukah (Works and Transport), Alhaji Adamu Babayo Gabarin (Youth and Sports), Alhaji Abdullahi Mohammed (Lands and Survey), and Dr. Lawal Mohammed Rimin Zayam (Education).<\/p>\n

In addition to the appointments, four serving commissioners were redeployed to new portfolios, including Amina Muhammad Katagum, who now heads the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, and Ibrahim Gambo Galadima, who moved to the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs.<\/p>\n

Mohammed reiterated his administration\u2019s commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy and urged all officials to uphold the trust placed in them.<\/p>\n
