Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The people of the Ondo North Senatorial District of Ondo State have expressed dismay over the alleged lack of performance by the senator representing the district in the National Assembly, Jide Ipinsagba.<\/p>\n

While stressing that the senatorial district has yet to feel the impact of Ipinsagba in the over 20 months since his election to the Red Chamber, the constituents lamented that they have continued to be shortchanged.<\/p>\n

Ife Ajibuwa, speaking on behalf of the people of the Ondo North Senatorial District in an open letter addressed to the senator, urged Ipinsagba to live up to expectations, given that his counterparts in the other two senatorial districts have been giving back to their people.<\/p>\n

Ajibuwa emphasised that if the senator is overwhelmed by the demands of the office, he should step aside for a more capable hand in the overall interest of the people.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou have been in office for over 20 months, nearly half of your tenure, yet there is little to show in terms of youth development, skill acquisition, or job creation.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor a region like Ondo North, where unemployment is rampant and many small businesses struggle to survive, human empowerment is not just an expectation; it is a necessity.<\/p>\n

\u201cOther senators across the country, whom I would prefer not to name, have demonstrated that with the right commitment, meaningful change is achievable.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am fully aware that opportunities such as constituency project funds, partnerships with government agencies, and private sector collaborations are available to you,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

Ajibuwa further stressed that the senator still has ample time to etch his name in gold, emphasising that the people are running out of patience.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the federal lawmaker, who described the open letter as misinformation, stated that he has been able to facilitate initiatives for the betterment of the people.<\/p>\n

Ipinsagba, who spoke through his media team, listed his achievements and stressed that, as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Public Procurement, he has approached his legislative duties with a firm commitment to ensuring transparency, accountability, and tangible progress.<\/p>\n

\u201cI facilitated agricultural training programmes for youths and existing farmers, equipping them with modern techniques to enhance productivity. I distributed fertilisers to farmers to address critical agricultural challenges, ensuring increased output and improved local food security,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
