{"id":147340,"date":"2025-01-22T22:20:17","date_gmt":"2025-01-22T21:20:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/police-nab-robbery-suspect-recover-weapons-in-delta"},"modified":"2025-01-31T21:39:21","modified_gmt":"2025-01-31T20:39:21","slug":"police-nab-robbery-suspect-recover-weapons-in-delta","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/policy\/police-nab-robbery-suspect-recover-weapons-in-delta","title":{"rendered":"Police nab robbery suspect, recover weapons in Delta"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Police Command in Delta has apprehended a robbery and kidnap suspect in Agbarho community, Ughelli North Local Government Area of the state.<\/p>\n<p>The spokesman of the Command, SP Bright Edafe, disclosed this to newsmen on Wednesday in Warri.<\/p>\n<p>Edafe said that the suspect was arrested on Friday by police operatives attached to the Agbarho Division, following a tip-off from members of the public.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Agbarho Division while acting on a tip-off, mobilised his patrol team to the residence of the 40-years-old suspect.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA search warrant was executed in the suspect\u2019s residence and one G3 rifle, pump action gun and a cutlass were recovered,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Edafe said that the exhibits were hidden inside the roof of the suspect\u2019s one-room apartment.<\/p>\n<p>He, however, said that the suspect has been detained in police custody while investigation in the matter is ongoing.<\/p>\n<p>Edafe said that the Commissioner of Police, CP, Delta Command, Mr Olufemi Abaniwonda has urged the public to continue to provide the police with useful, credible and timely information to stem insecurity in the state.<\/p>\n<p>He assured of the CP\u2019s commitment to ensuring the state is safe and secured for the residents.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Nigeria<\/span> Follow <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Africa-Press<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria.
