England boss Gareth Southgate<\/a> has revealed that Tammy Abraham remains in his plans despite the Chelsea<\/a> striker’s omission from the latest Three Lions roster announced on Thursday afternoon.<\/p>\n

The Nigeria Football Federation<\/a> target had an outstanding season last term, scoring 26 goals for Aston Villa as they secured promotion to the Premier League.<\/p>\n

Abraham is improving as a player this season and netted his first pair of goals for Chelsea in their last league match against Norwich City.<\/p>\n

There is a lot of competition in attack in the England squad and Southgate went for Harry Kane, Marcus Rashford and
\nCallum Wilson for the European Championship qualifiers against Bulgaria and Kosovo.<\/p>\n

Asked at Thursday’s press conference if Abraham was close to his thoughts before announcing the squad list, Southgate answered : ”Tammy is one of a number of players who have either started the season well or we know well through our junior teams.<\/p>\n

”This squad can look very different over the next few months and there is, as I said, in every position real competition and we need that”.<\/p>\n
