It can enhance the classroom experience through personalisation and efficiency, but it can never replace the human connection and empathy that teachers provide,” he said.

Nsisong Eyo in his presentation on ‘How can Teachers leverage AI to Bridge Gaps in Education’, outlined several AI-powered platforms and applications teachers can leverage to simplify tasks and lessons to provide tailored learning experiences.

Eyo, a tech expert noted that the continuous advancement of AI and technology remains a serious threat to every sector, adding that teachers who intend to stay relevant must leverage AI and the gains it offers as it is here to stay.

Speaking on ‘AI and Equity: How Technology Can Promote Equal Access to Education’, Ndifreke Enefiok stressed the importance of ensuring that the benefits of AI reaches rural and underserved communities.

“AI has the potential to close the digital divide, but only if there is a deliberate effort to make it accessible. Governments and stakeholders must invest in infrastructure and training to ensure that no child is left behind in this technological revolution sweeping across the world,” she stated.

She however noted that while AI offers great potential for the education sector, human control and equity is important to ensure data privacy, discrimination and bias such as expensive digital products, data subscription and restrictions are eliminated to make AI and technology accessible and inclusive for people especially in rural communities.

Other speakers such as Dr. Emmanuel Ekpenyong, Mr. Ubong Udofia and Engr. Ernest Udofot expressed concerns and called for the amplification of the key issues x-rayed through more strategic meetings, dialogue sessions, and commitment to addressing infrastructure deficits, digital inclusion, and teacher capacity-building.

Source: Daily Post Nigeria

For More News And Analysis About Nigeria Follow Africa-Press

By Lovina Anthony Africa-Press – Nigeria.
