{"id":14979,"date":"2019-09-02T16:58:20","date_gmt":"2019-09-02T16:58:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\/nigeria\/?p=14979"},"modified":"2019-09-02T16:58:20","modified_gmt":"2019-09-02T16:58:20","slug":"efcc-recovers-over-n795m-from-suspected-fraudsters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/all-news\/efcc-recovers-over-n795m-from-suspected-fraudsters","title":{"rendered":"EFCC Recovers Over N795m From Suspected Fraudsters"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Economic_and_Financial_Crimes_Commission\"> Economic and Financial Crimes<\/a> Commission has said that it has recovered over N795.5m from various suspects in Kano involved in financial offenses.<\/p>\n<p>This was made known on Monday by Head of the Kano Zonal office of the commission, ACP Akaninyene Ezima.<\/p>\n<p>He disclosed that in eight months, over 280 suspects had so far been arrested while 51 suspects are undergoing prosecution at different courts in the state.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cSo far, we have 51 various cases currently ongoing in the courts, which are at different stages of completion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut right now, we have legal vacation and once the vacation is over, we will resume.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn money laundering, we have been able to recover N550m from January to August this year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOver 280 suspects have been arrested for committing various offences this year.
