Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Operatives at the Warewa division of the Ogun State police have arrested two suspects for allegedly breaking in and stealing goods worth N14m from a supermarket in Oke-Afa, Magboro, in the Obafemi Owode local government area of the state.<\/p>\n

The suspects are Mohammed Adams, a security guard assigned to secure the premises and Mastaudu Mohammed.<\/p>\n

Adams opened the gate for his accomplices, allowing them gain access to commit the crime.<\/p>\n

The police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola told DAILY POST that the incident was reported by one Adelanke Olalekan, owner of the supermarket.<\/p>\n

According to Odutola, Olalekan said he received a call at about 5:45 am from a So-Safe Corps personnel, informing him that his supermarket at Oke-Afa had been burgled.<\/p>\n

She said, \u201cUpon arrival at the scene, he discovered that his shop had been broken into and goods worth \u20a614 million carted away.<\/p>\n

\u201c Upon receiving the report, the DPO mobilized his detectives to the scene, where CCTV footage was obtained. The footage revealed that the night guard, Mohammed Adams, who was assigned to secure the premises, had opened the gate for his accomplices, allowing them to gain access and successfully commit the crime.<\/p>\n

\u201cDuring interrogation, Adams confessed to masterminding the burglary. Further investigations led to the arrest of one Mastaudu Mohammed (male) in connection with the crime\u201d.<\/p>\n

Odutola disclosed that an investigation is ongoing to unravel all incidents surrounding the burgling.<\/p>\n

The Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, however, stressed the importance of vigilance and security consciousness among residents, emphasizing that many criminal incidents can be prevented if individuals exercise basic security precautions.<\/p>\n

He urged everyone in the state to remain proactive in safeguarding their personal and business environments to deter criminal activities.<\/p>\n
