Shu\u2019aibu of the Federal High Court in Kano ruled that the prosecution had proven its case beyond a reasonable doubt, sentencing Muhammad to seven years without the option of a fine.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Prosecutor, Mr. Abdullahi Babale, of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Kano State Zonal Command, the crime occurred on January 24, 2025, at Wailari Quarters.<\/p>\n<p>Babale told the court that Muhammad lured his stepdaughter into his wife\u2019s room while she was away in Jigawa State and sexually exploited her on four separate occasions, giving her N2,000 to support her soya bean cake business.<\/p>\n<p>The prosecution presented the defendant\u2019s confessional statement and the victim\u2019s testimony as evidence.<\/p>\n<p>Babale argued that Muhammad\u2019s actions violated Section 16(1) of the Trafficking in Persons (Prohibition) Enforcement and Administration Act, 2015, which is punishable under Section 26(1) of the same Act.<\/p>\n<p>The Defence Counsel, Mr. I.
