Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Kano State Executive Council, under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved the payment of nine months\u2019 salary arrears to 2,369 sanitation workers across the state.<\/p>\n

The outstanding payments, covering June 2024 to February 2025, were facilitated by the council to support environmental sustainability and improve the welfare of sanitation workers.<\/p>\n

Announcing the development, the Commissioner for Environment and Climate Change, Dr. Dahir M. Hashim, emphasized the administration\u2019s commitment to improving citizens\u2019 quality of life and maintaining a clean environment.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe timely payment of these arrears will go a long way in motivating our sanitation workers, who have shown exceptional dedication despite the delay,\u201d Dr. Hashim stated.<\/p>\n

He commended the sanitation workers for their patience and resilience, acknowledging their crucial role in maintaining cleanliness across the state.<\/p>\n

Additionally, Dr. Hashim revealed that other sanitation personnel, including House-to-House Inspectors and members of the Sanitation Vanguard, would soon be assessed for similar payments. The Ministry urged these workers to prepare for upcoming evaluations.<\/p>\n
