{"id":15178,"date":"2019-09-07T14:21:37","date_gmt":"2019-09-07T14:21:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\/nigeria\/?p=15178"},"modified":"2019-09-07T14:21:37","modified_gmt":"2019-09-07T14:21:37","slug":"pdp-will-lose-bayelsa-gov-poll","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/all-news\/pdp-will-lose-bayelsa-gov-poll","title":{"rendered":"\u2018PDP will lose Bayelsa gov poll\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legit.ng\/1253857-buhari-centre-fires-timi-frank-jonathan-apologise-nigerians.html\">Timi Frank<\/a>, on Friday predicted that the Peoples Democratic Party would lose the November 16 governorship election in Bayelsa State for \u201cchoosing to field a weak candidate\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Douye Diri has been chosen by the PDP as its candidate for the election.<\/p>\n<p>Frank told our correspondent in Abuja that the candidate of the APC for the election, David Lyon, would win.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cThe APC will win the governorship election in Bayelsa State seeing the weak candidate who Governor Seriake Dickson and the PDP have chosen.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is not my wish for the APC to win the election as I am not a member of the party. I\u2019m not also a supporter of the party. But from the look of things, the choice made by Dickson and the PDP is not inspiring.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to remind those surprised that this was the same position I took against my former party, the APC, in 2015 when former governor and now the Minister of State for Petroleum, Chief Timipre Sylva, was nominated. He lost the election.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHistory is about to repeat itself, albeit in the PDP because it is making the same mistake that the APC made in 2015.
