{"id":152189,"date":"2025-02-21T22:22:43","date_gmt":"2025-02-21T21:22:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/police-arrest-suspected-robbers-kidnappers-in-delta"},"modified":"2025-02-21T22:22:43","modified_gmt":"2025-02-21T21:22:43","slug":"police-arrest-suspected-robbers-kidnappers-in-delta","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/all-news\/police-arrest-suspected-robbers-kidnappers-in-delta","title":{"rendered":"Police arrest suspected robbers, kidnappers in Delta"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Delta State Police Command has arrested several suspected armed robbers, kidnappers, and cultists in the state.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the suspected kidnappers, who have been terrorising the Abraka, Obiaruku, and Umutu areas, were apprehended on 30 January 2025 by operatives of the CP Special Assignment Team, CP-SAT, led by ASP Julius Robinson.<\/p>\n<p>The team stormed their hideout on 2 February 2025 and arrested the fleeing gang leader, identified as Emeka (surname unknown), at Evwokenren Layout, off Ughelli Road, Agbarho, in Ughelli North LGA, Delta State.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDuring the raid, a fabricated semi-automatic Beretta pistol with four rounds of live ammunition, four locally made cut-to-size guns, thirteen rounds of live cartridges, and a pair of military uniforms concealed in a black polythene bag were recovered.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, on 19 February 2025, at approximately 4 pm, operatives of Safer 025 from the Safer Highway Patrol, while conducting a stop-and-search operation along the Benin-Agbor Road, arrested three suspects in possession of three locally made long guns and charms.<\/p>\n<p>The suspects, identified as Buhari Bala, 28, Habibu Sale, 25, Abdulwahab Musa, 20, and Taisu Bala, 20, all male, claimed they were travelling from Zaria, Kaduna State, to a bush near Benin, known as Igbogri Community, for a hunting expedition.<\/p>\n<p>The Delta State Police Command spokesperson, Bright Edafe, further revealed that on 17 January 2025, acting on a tip-off, the DPO of Agbarho Division, CSP Pius Eredei, mobilised and led operatives to the apartment of Eriga Enyuche, 40.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUpon searching his one-room apartment, a G-3 rifle and a pump-action gun were discovered, concealed in the ceiling,\u201d Edafe stated.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Nigeria<\/span> Follow <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Africa-Press<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria.
