This campaign, aimed at mobilising support for the elimination of HIV\/AIDS, syphilis, and hepatitis among women and children, is very timely.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt comes at a time of momentous global changes, particularly in financing for public health emergencies. There has been significant anxiety worldwide over the withdrawal of support for HIV\/AIDS campaigns.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAny initiative aimed at filling the gaps left by the withdrawal of donor agency support is most welcome and commendable.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI commend our First Lady, Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for her inspirational leadership. She continues to make us proud with the noble causes she pursues.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe stands for the vulnerable, the poor, and the underserved. She is now deploying her skills and expertise in the service of African women and children.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHIV\/AIDS, syphilis, and hepatitis are deadly infections that continue to ravage our people. Tackling them decisively is, therefore, an urgent priority.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI seized the opportunity provided by the flag-off to share my thoughts with distinguished guests and participants on how we can expand and deepen the campaign for the elimination of HIV\/AIDS, syphilis, and hepatitis to ensure successful outcomes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt both federal and state levels, we must continue to refine and strengthen our policies on HIV\/AIDS, syphilis, and hepatitis. In designing and implementing our interventions, we should ensure the full involvement of people living with HIV\/AIDS and patients with syphilis and hepatitis.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe should also engage communities and conduct intensive and extensive awareness and sensitisation campaigns on HIV\/AIDS, syphilis, and hepatitis.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a deliberate and strategic step, we must build stronger partnerships and multi-sectoral collaborations to address the HIV\/AIDS, syphilis, and hepatitis epidemics through combined strategies that tackle the social, behavioural, and health determinants of these diseases.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese sectors include government agencies, healthcare providers, educational institutions, community organisations, and the private sector.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Kaduna State Government will continue to partner with the Organisation of African First Ladies (OAFLAD) to develop and implement strategies for the elimination of HIV\/AIDS, syphilis, and hepatitis.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur First Ladies are demonstrating responsive and responsible leadership. History will surely bear witness that when Africa was at a crossroads, they stepped forward to fill a major gap. Because of their efforts, there is hope for those affected by HIV\/AIDS, syphilis, and hepatitis.
