Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Apparently reacting to the suspension of foreign aid to African countries by the U.S. President, Donald Trump, President Bola Tinubu has said he likes what is happening across the world.<\/p>\n

Trump in an executive order, halted the operation of the US Agency for International Development, USAID, affecting most African countries, including Nigeria.<\/p>\n

In Nigeria, the USAID had prior to Trump\u2019s order, focused on economic growth, food security, governance, health, gender equality, stability in conflict-affected areas and renewable energy.<\/p>\n

Nigeria is 6th among the top countries that are the highest beneficiaries of USAID.<\/p>\n

The suspension had sparked concerns across the nation.<\/p>\n

Speaking on Tuesday at the All Progressives Congress, APC, national caucus meeting at the States House, Abuja, Tinubu said what is happening across the world is a lesson to Nigeria and other African countries.<\/p>\n

According to him, it is a lesson for the African countries to build themselves and help the continent to grow.<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cI like what is happening around the world, if anything, it is teaching a lesson that we particularly Nigerians and the great African continent can build ourselves and help Africa to grow\u201d.<\/p>\n
