Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Kano State Police Command has arrested 17 suspected thugs allegedly planning a violent protest in the state.<\/p>\n

The police disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Command\u2019s spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa.<\/p>\n

According to the statement, the arrests followed credible intelligence reports indicating that certain individuals were planning to disrupt public peace through a violent demonstration.<\/p>\n

In response, the police, in collaboration with other security agencies, deployed personnel and resources to strategic locations within Kano Metropolis to prevent the unrest.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a result of these proactive measures, 17 suspected thugs have been arrested, and investigation is ongoing,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Command is committed to ensuring that the perpetrators of this planned violence are brought to justice.\u201d<\/p>\n

The police further warned individuals and groups against engaging in unlawful gatherings, processions, or any act capable of breaching public peace.<\/p>\n

SP Kiyawa assured Kano residents that adequate security measures had been put in place to prevent any breakdown of law and order.<\/p>\n

He also urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to security agencies.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Command appreciates the cooperation and support of the good people of Kano State in our efforts to maintain peace and order,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
