A former director of Kenya\u2019s anti-corruption agency, Professor Patrick Lumumba has revealed when and how corruption would end in Nigeria.<\/p>\n

He said the day\u00a0Nigerians<\/a>\u00a0would be sufficiently fed up with corruption in their country, they would rise and take an action that would end corruption in the country.<\/p>\n

He stated this on Tuesday when he spoke at the opening session of the 49th annual conference of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria in Abuja.<\/p>\n

According to him, corruption still strives in Nigeria and in many other African countries because they are not yet fed up with the menace.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe task of nation-building is a collective responsibility. If you are an accountant, you have to do your work by ensuring that the right records are kept and that the truth is told.<\/p>\n

\u201cCorruption<\/a>\u00a0is a crime against humanity. Experiences have demonstrated that if a people in a country are sufficiently fed up, they will rise. In Romanian, we saw that the people themselves were dissatisfied with the conduct of their party officials and they changed the attitude of the leadership.<\/p>\n

\u201cSometimes, I think Nigerians and many Africans are not fed up. Because the day we are fed up, things will begin to change,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
