{"id":153396,"date":"2025-02-28T09:57:15","date_gmt":"2025-02-28T08:57:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/kano-governor-orders-probe-into-arbitrary-salary-deductions"},"modified":"2025-02-28T09:57:15","modified_gmt":"2025-02-28T08:57:15","slug":"kano-governor-orders-probe-into-arbitrary-salary-deductions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/economy\/kano-governor-orders-probe-into-arbitrary-salary-deductions","title":{"rendered":"Kano governor orders probe into arbitrary salary deductions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf has issued a stern warning over the widespread reported cases of salary underpayment and non-payment affecting a number of the state\u2019s civil servants.<\/p>\n<p>There has been reported cases of underpayment and non payment of salary by some state civil servants.<\/p>\n<p>Fuming over the revelations that some workers have gone months without receiving their rightful earnings, Governor Yusuf vowed to expose and punish those responsible.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement issued by the Governor\u2019s spokesperson, he warned that the administration will not tolerate any act of injustice against workers, adding that \u201canyone found complicit in this reprehensible act will face the full wrath of the law\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>In a decisive move to end the irregularities, the governor has inaugurated a high-powered investigative committee to unearth the root causes of the discrepancies, whether due to technical errors or deliberate human sabotage.<\/p>\n<p>The committee has been directed to conduct a thorough audit of the state\u2019s payroll from October 2024 to February 2025, identify affected workers, determine the financial impact, and recommend corrective and punitive actions.<\/p>\n<p>The seven-member committee, chaired by Hon. Abdulkadir Abdussalam, Commissioner for Rural &amp; Community Development and the immediate past State Accountant General, is made up of top government officials and financial experts with deep knowledge of payroll systems.<\/p>\n<p>The members include: Hon. Abdulkadir Abdussalam \u2013 Chairman, Commissioner, Ministry for Rural &amp; Community Development. Dr. Bashir Abdu Muzakkari \u2013 Member Special Adviser on Digital Economy, Dr. Aliyu Isa Aliyu \u2013 Member, Director-General, Kano State Bureau of Statistics, Dr. Hamisu Sadi Ali \u2013 Member, Director-General, Kano State Debt Management Office, Hajiya Zainab Abdulkadir \u2013 Member, Director, Kano State Computer Centre, Aliyu Muhammad Sani \u2013 Secretary, Director, Research &amp; Evaluation, REPA Directorate, SSG\u2019s Office, Ummulkulthum Ladan Kailani \u2013 Co-Secretary, Senior Assistant Secretary (AGS), Admin. &amp; General Services Directorate, SSG\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<p>The committee has been given just seven days to complete its findings and submit a comprehensive report outlining those responsible, the extent of the financial malpractice, and lasting solutions to ensure the problem never recurs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Nigeria<\/span> Follow <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Africa-Press<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria.
