This panel will provide lasting solutions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The panel will be chaired by the Special Adviser to the Governor on House of Assembly Matters, Ropo Oyewole.<\/p>\n<p>Other members, the statement revealed, include: Barrister Samuel Ojo, Special Adviser on Security Matters; M.O. Oyedeji, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Regional Integration; and J. Amusan, Director of Staff Welfare, Public Service Office.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMrs Adeola Ajekigbe, Deputy Director of Chieftaincy Affairs at the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, has been appointed as the panel\u2019s secretary.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The team is expected to bring their expertise to resolve the long-standing conflict.<\/p>\n<p>The terms of reference for the panel include \u201cdetermining the remote and immediate causes of the crisis that began on January 30, 2025, following the State Executive Council\u2019s approval of Prince Oluwatimileyin Oluyemi Ajayi as the Olojudo of Ido-Ayegunle.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe panel will also assess damages and recommend remediation measures.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn addition, the panel is tasked with proposing strategies to ensure lasting peace in the area and addressing any other matters deemed necessary for their investigation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTheir findings and recommendations must be submitted within two weeks of the panel\u2019s inauguration.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Dosu Babatunde, announced that the panel\u2019s inauguration will take place on March 4, 2025, at the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in Osogbo.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe expect the panel to carry out its duties diligently and fairly,\u201d Babatunde stated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe government is determined to resolve this issue in the best interest of both communities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Earlier reported that the Owamiran of Esa-Oke, Oba Adeyemi Adediran, called on Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke to fulfill his promise of establishing a panel of inquiry to investigate the crisis that erupted in Esa-Oke on February 3, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing journalists in Esa-Oke on Tuesday, Oba Adediran expressed concern over the delay in the panel\u2019s inauguration, stressing the community\u2019s eagerness to present its case and seek justice following the deadly clash with the neighboring Ido-Ayegunle community over a land dispute.<\/p>\n<p>Also, the Chairman of the Esa-Oke Central Union, Bamigbeyi Aremu, voiced frustration over the delay in implementing resolutions made by Governor Adeleke following the crisis.<\/p>\n<p>He described the situation as still tense, accusing Ido-Ayegunle\u2019s leadership, under Baale Timileyin Ajayi, of continuing harassment against Esa-Oke farmers.<\/p>\n<p>He warned that the community\u2019s patience was wearing thin and urged Governor Adeleke to act swiftly to prevent further conflict.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Nigeria<\/span> Follow <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Africa-Press<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria.
