Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Faculty of Law in the Abia State University, which is located in Umuahia, will be relocated to the main campus of the institution in Uturu by June 2025.<\/p>\n

Recall that Governor Alex Otti had in November 2024, ordered the campus to be moved back to Uturu but some Law students and their parents complained about the immediacy of the directive.<\/p>\n

But briefing Journalists in Umuahia on Monday about the outcome of this week\u2019s executive council meeting presided over by Governor Alex Otti, Commissioner for Information, Okey Kanu announced that the relocation of the Law students and their lecturers will commence in June.<\/p>\n

He said the initially planned movement of the Faculty back Uturu in 2024, was hampered by logistics, procedures, accreditation problems and students examinations.<\/p>\n

He noted that the State government delayed the movement after listening to complaints by students and other citizens about the inconvenience they may encounter if they moved back to the main campus without adequate procedures and upgraded infrastructure.<\/p>\n

Kanu added that pupils in primary schools and students in junior secondary have been stopped from paying any type of fees, including PTA fees, sports fees, among others.<\/p>\n

He said school heads were being paid monthly imprest to discourage extortion of pupils.<\/p>\n
