Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>A 36-year-old housewife named Josephine Isaac has been reported dead after her husband allegedly stabbed her in the neck and chest during an argument in Ogun State.<\/p>\n

The incident occurred at about 1 a.m. on Thursday in the Agbure Community, Ogun Waterside area of the state.<\/p>\n

The suspect, simply identified as Oju, was said to have stabbed his wife multiple times with a knife when the argument escalated into physical violence.<\/p>\n

Realizing the severity of her injuries, he fled the scene, abandoning his wife in a pool of blood.<\/p>\n

The victim was immediately rushed to Ibiade General Hospital by concerned individuals, where she succumbed to her injuries.<\/p>\n

Confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Police Command, Omolola Odutola, said that the incident was reported to the Abigi Divisional Command by the victim\u2019s younger sister, Isaac Blessing.<\/p>\n

She said, \u201cOn March 6, 2025, at about 9:30 a.m., the Abigi Divisional Police Headquarters received a distress report from the victim\u2019s younger sister, Isaac Blessing.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe narrated that at about 1 a.m., Josephine had a misunderstanding with her husband, identified as Oju (full name yet to be confirmed), who is of Calabar origin.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe altercation escalated into physical violence, during which the suspect allegedly stabbed his wife multiple times in the neck and chest with a knife.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Odutola, upon receiving the report, detectives of the command swiftly visited the scene of the crime to gather evidence and have launched a manhunt for the fleeing husband.<\/p>\n

She noted that the corpse has been deposited at the mortuary for autopsy, and preliminary investigations are ongoing.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Abeokuta, for further investigation.<\/p>\n

\u201cMeanwhile, the Ogun State Police Command has launched a manhunt for the suspect and assures the public that no effort will be spared in bringing him to justice.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe appeal to anyone with useful information about the suspect\u2019s whereabouts to report to the nearest police station or contact the command\u2019s emergency lines,\u201d Odutola added.<\/p>\n

However, the Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, strongly condemned the act of domestic violence, urging couples to seek peaceful means of resolving disputes rather than resorting to violence.<\/p>\n

Ogunlowo also encouraged victims of domestic abuse to speak up and seek timely intervention from law enforcement agencies and relevant support groups.<\/p>\n
