Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>A man identified as Basiru Hassan has died after stepping on an explosive device suspected to have been planted by bandits in Shiroro Local Government Area (LGA) of Niger State.<\/p>\n

The tragic incident, which occurred around 5:00 p.m. on Monday.<\/p>\n

This was disclosed in a post by security analyst Zagazola Makama on X on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

According to Makama, the deceased, a resident of Unguwan Hayin Jadda via Pandogari, had ventured into the Sarari-Mangoro bush to tap honey when he accidentally triggered the explosive, which detonated instantly.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe unknowingly stepped on the device, leading to a fatal explosion,\u201d Makama reported.<\/p>\n

Relatives of the deceased later recovered his remains and buried him according to Islamic rites.<\/p>\n

Security agencies have since alerted local stakeholders and residents, particularly those in bandit-prone areas, to exercise extreme caution when moving through remote paths.<\/p>\n
