{"id":155024,"date":"2025-03-11T23:28:33","date_gmt":"2025-03-11T22:28:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/efcc-operatives-arrest-28-suspected-ponzi-scheme-operators-in-niger"},"modified":"2025-03-25T19:36:30","modified_gmt":"2025-03-25T18:36:30","slug":"efcc-operatives-arrest-28-suspected-ponzi-scheme-operators-in-niger","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/all-news\/efcc-operatives-arrest-28-suspected-ponzi-scheme-operators-in-niger","title":{"rendered":"EFCC operatives arrest 28 suspected ponzi scheme operators in Niger"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>N fewer than 28 suspected Ponzi scheme operators have been arrested by operatives of the Kaduna Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in Minna, Niger State.<\/p>\n<p>A statement on X.com on Tuesday explained that the suspects were apprehended after credible intelligence linked them to fraudulent investment activities with a company, Q-Net Ltd, that operates from a three-bedroom apartment in Al-Bishiri Estate, Minna.<\/p>\n<p>The statement further explained that the victims were lured into believing that the company was international, with affiliates in Dubai, India, Indonesia, and Thailand, and were made to part with between $790 to $850, amounting to N1,462,000, as a registration fee and for product purchases.<\/p>\n<p>The statement said, \u201cSome of those arrested were receiving lectures on Ponzi scheme operations, dressed up as \u2018network marketing.\u2019 Items recovered from them reportedly included Q-Net application forms and other documents.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The EFCC also revealed the names of the suspects as Nofisat Opeyemi, Shukurat Muritala, Odunayo Sanni, Mayowa Oyekola, Aishat Olaitan, Edward Hannah, Abioye Fathiah, Joseph Omowunmi, Kareem Ahmed, Arikeusola Afeez, Adiamo Mutholib, Abass Ibrahim, Wasiu Taofeek, Adeniji Damilare, Nurudeen Akinola, and Mubarak Yekeen.<\/p>\n<p>The statement further said that others are Adedeji Ayobami, Alani Samuel, Ogundele Yunus, Adekunle Ibrahim, Adewale Azeez, Rufai Faruk, Fawaz Yekeen, Olade Abdullahi, Ahmed Murtala, Adisa Habeebllahi Akorede, Adigun Timilehin, and Abdulfatai Ridwannullah.<\/p>\n<p>The suspects, the agency said, would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Nigeria<\/span> Follow <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Africa-Press<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria.
