Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has revealed why he stayed away from the Presidential Villa during the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.<\/p>\n

According to the minister, he feared for his life, having stood firm as opposition against the Buhari-led All Progressives Congress, APC, administration.<\/p>\n

Wike lambasted the current governors elected on the umbrella of the main opposition party, insisting that their interest is to kill the PDP.<\/p>\n

Wike, the immediate past governor of Rivers State, spoke on Wednesday at a media chat in Abuja.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese current governors, their interest is to kill the PDP,\u201d Wike said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was a governor. As at that time I saw the opposition party, no, the ruling party then, that\u2019s under Buhari, came out fighting PDP.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m proud to say it. I am very, very proud. I stood my ground and said it won\u2019t work. I said we must survive. I never went to the [Presidential] Villa. Never! Never! In fact, I stopped going to NEC. I stopped going to the NEC meeting because I feared for my life.<\/p>\n

\u201cI stood and I said, PDP will not die. Forget about these people. You know, you say one thing here, in the night you say something else.<\/p>\n

\u201cI never hid my intention about where I\u2019m going to.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wike further suggested that the governors elected on the PDP platform do not have character, and insisted that no matter what anybody can say about him, he never played two roles.<\/p>\n
