{"id":155091,"date":"2025-03-12T23:30:02","date_gmt":"2025-03-12T22:30:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/man-remanded-for-allegedly-stabbing-neighbour-in-kano"},"modified":"2025-03-25T19:51:47","modified_gmt":"2025-03-25T18:51:47","slug":"man-remanded-for-allegedly-stabbing-neighbour-in-kano","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/all-news\/man-remanded-for-allegedly-stabbing-neighbour-in-kano","title":{"rendered":"Man remanded for allegedly stabbing neighbour in Kano"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>A Sharia Court in Kano State on Wednesday ordered that a 29 year-old man, Abduljabar Nura, should be remanded in a correctional centre for allegedly stabbing his neighbour over electricity bill.<\/p>\n<p>The police charged Nura, who lives in Fagge Quarters in Kano, with causing grievous hurt.<\/p>\n<p>When the charge was read to the defendant, he pleaded guilty to the offence.<\/p>\n<p>The judge, Malam Umar Lawal-Abubakar, ordered that the defendant should be remanded in the Goron Dutse Correctional centre in Kano until April 15 for sentencing.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the prosecution counsel, Zahradeen Abubakar told the court that Haruna Kasim, the complainant, reported the matter at the Fagge Police Station on Feb. 28.<\/p>\n<p>He alleged that the defendant and Kasim had an altercation over an electricity bill.<\/p>\n<p>The police said that the defendant stabbed the complainant with a pair of scissors on his back.<\/p>\n<p>The prosecutor said the offence contravened the provisions of sections 158 and 165 of the Penal Code law of Kano State.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Nigeria<\/span> Follow <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Africa-Press<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria.
