This is why the Federal Ministry of Health has introduced new vaccines to address them,\u201d Mohammed stated.<\/p>\n<p>He further revealed that the vaccination campaign would be conducted under the auspices of the Forum of Nigerian Governors\u2019 Spouses, adding that the initiative would facilitate the work of healthcare personnel administering the vaccines.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are already familiar with the measles vaccine in the country. What makes this initiative different is the addition of the Rubella vaccine,\u201d he clarified.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a collective fight, which is why governors\u2019 spouses are taking the lead in driving awareness ahead of the vaccination exercise.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the event, Bauchi State First Lady, Aisha Mohammed, who convened the sensitization programme, assured that women would play a crucial role in ensuring the success of the new Measles-Rubella vaccination campaign.<\/p>\n<p>She explained that women\u2019s involvement in disease prevention was a key reason they were targeted for the awareness drive.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe introduction of the Measles-Rubella vaccine marks a significant milestone in our efforts to protect children from these life-threatening diseases,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>She further warned that the consequences of these infections, particularly for young children and pregnant women, could lead to severe complications such as blindness and mental health issues.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Nigeria<\/span> Follow <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Africa-Press<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria.
