Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Google owner, Alphabet, has hinted at buying cybersecurity firm Wiz for $32 billion.<\/p>\n

The deal would boost the United States of America tech giant\u2019s in-house cloud computing amid burgeoning artificial intelligence growth.<\/p>\n

This means that if the deal is closed, the cash transaction, announced Tuesday, will become Google\u2019s most expensive acquisition in the company\u2019s 25-year history.<\/p>\n

The Wiz acquisition will give Google new momentum in its efforts to compete in the cloud-computing business by offering more security for its services.<\/p>\n

\u201cWiz and Google Cloud are both fueled by the belief that cloud security needs to be easier, more accessible, more intelligent, and democratised so more organisations can adopt and use cloud and AI securely,\u201d Wiz CEO Assaf Rappaport said in a blog post.<\/p>\n

The company says Wiz will join Google Cloud\u2014and that this deal represents a company investment \u201cto accelerate two large and growing trends in the AI era: improved cloud security and the ability to use multiple clouds\u201d.<\/p>\n

Also, Google CEO Sundar Pichai said in a statement, Google Cloud and Wiz \u201cwill turbocharge improved cloud security and the ability to use multiple clouds.\u201d<\/p>\n

The current purchase clause surpasses a reported $23 billion buyout proposal that Wiz rejected last July, 2024.<\/p>\n
