Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Federal Capital Territory Authority, FCTA, has explained that it revoked only one landed property belonging to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.<\/p>\n

FCTA Director of Lands, Chijioke Nwankwoeze disclosed this while denying pictures being painted by the PDP that two of its properties were revoked and that the revocation was targeted at the party.<\/p>\n

Addressing journalists on Wednesday, Nwankwoeze, said only Plot Number 243, located at Central Area, was the property owned by the PDP out of the 4,974 land titles revoked.<\/p>\n

The Director of Lands said the other property being used as Secretariat by the PDP belongs to Senator Samaila Mamman Kurfi, who bought the property from Wadata Enterprises Nigeria Limited.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cOn the PDP property located at Central Area, a sum of N7,603,504.31, was owned as 20 years Ground Rent while a sum of of N2,848,173.36 is owed by Senator Samaila Mamman Kurfi, as 28 years Ground Rent on Plot No. 1970, Wuse I (Wadata Plaza).\u201d<\/p>\n

He said among owners of the revoked 4,794 land titles are government owned institutions like Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC), Borno State Government, Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), National Universities Commission (NUC) and Kaduna State Government.<\/p>\n

Others are the Nigerian Port Authority (NPA), News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Federal Ministry of Environment, Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Company, University of Calabar and Nigerian Postal Service and Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN).<\/p>\n

Apart from government owned institutions, there are thousands of private organizations and individuals that are affected.<\/p>\n
