{"id":155842,"date":"2025-03-20T11:01:54","date_gmt":"2025-03-20T10:01:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/labour-party-too-divided-to-win-in-2027-oria"},"modified":"2025-04-03T18:16:21","modified_gmt":"2025-04-03T17:16:21","slug":"labour-party-too-divided-to-win-in-2027-oria","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/parties\/labour-party-too-divided-to-win-in-2027-oria","title":{"rendered":"Labour Party too divided to win in 2027 \u2013 Oria"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Mr Adefolarin Oria, the Labour Party, LP, candidate for Ondo Central Senatorial District in the 2023 general election, has expressed concerns over the party\u2019s chances in future elections, stating that internal divisions could hinder its success in 2027.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, on Thursday in Akure, Oria criticized the party\u2019s leadership for failing to foster inclusivity and unity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe way the party presents itself, as if it belongs to a specific group, makes it difficult for indigenous people from other regions to accept it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Oria highlighted leadership struggles, particularly the controversy surrounding the party\u2019s governorship candidate for the 2024 Ondo State election.<\/p>\n<p>The LP was embroiled in a legal battle over the nomination of Mr. Sola Ebiseni and Mr Ayo Olorunfemi, leading to a divided front.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPolitics is about inclusiveness.
