{"id":156001,"date":"2025-03-21T11:30:44","date_gmt":"2025-03-21T10:30:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/imo-police-command-arrest-lawyer-over-allegeded-shooting-of-teenager"},"modified":"2025-04-04T11:44:42","modified_gmt":"2025-04-04T10:44:42","slug":"imo-police-command-arrest-lawyer-over-allegeded-shooting-of-teenager","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/policy\/imo-police-command-arrest-lawyer-over-allegeded-shooting-of-teenager","title":{"rendered":"Imo: Police command arrest lawyer over allegeded shooting of teenager"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Imo State Police Command has arrested Barrister Donald Mbamah, a 64-year-old man, in connection with the shooting of a 16-year-old student, Paul Victor, on March 17, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>A press statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Henry Okoye, stated that the incident occurred at approximately 12:34 PM at Mbamah\u2019s residence located at Area N, World Bank, New Owerri.<\/p>\n<p>The statement hinted that the victim, a student of Urban Development Secondary School, was allegedly shot in the buttocks under circumstances that are still under investigation.<\/p>\n<p>Okoye further informed that police operatives from the New Owerri Division, led by the DPO, swiftly responded to a distress call from a concerned neighbor who heard the gunshot.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey arrived at the scene, apprehended the suspect, and rushed the victim, Paul Victor, to General Hospital, Umuguma, for treatment.
