{"id":156110,"date":"2025-03-22T12:12:05","date_gmt":"2025-03-22T11:12:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/police-sakeholders-seek-lasting-solutions-to-plateaus-security-woes"},"modified":"2025-04-04T12:06:09","modified_gmt":"2025-04-04T11:06:09","slug":"police-sakeholders-seek-lasting-solutions-to-plateaus-security-woes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/policy\/police-sakeholders-seek-lasting-solutions-to-plateaus-security-woes","title":{"rendered":"Police, sakeholders seek lasting solutions to Plateau\u2019s security woes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Plateau State Command, has engaged stakeholders with a view to finding lasting solutions to contemporary security challenges in the state.<\/p>\n<p>Plateau State has witnessed uncertainty, including kidnapping, child trafficking, communal clashes, and other criminal activities, which the government has condemned.<\/p>\n<p>The stakeholders\u2019 engagement aims to strengthen synergy and collaboration between security agencies and citizens to enhance peaceful coexistence in the state, particularly during the farming season.<\/p>\n<p>Emmanuel Adesina, the Commissioner of Police, declared that Plateau is experiencing relative peace, saying that security agents are implementing the template of Executive Order 001, signed by Governor Caleb Mutfwang, for the temporary suspension of all illegal mining activities in the state.<\/p>\n<p>While addressing stakeholders at the Police Officers\u2019 Mess, CP Adesina said, \u201cI stand before you today with gratitude as we discuss peace. We are enjoying peace in the state, and I believe that by coming together, we will achieve a lot,\u201d CP Adesina said. \u201cOur people, especially farmers, need to feel secure as they work on their farms. We must provide security and assure them of their safety.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Wycliff Bewet, Permanent Secretary on Security, acknowledged the commitment of security agencies to prioritizing a peaceful society and emphasized that citizens must partner with them to maintain peace.<\/p>\n<p>Bewet stated that trafficking does not begin with security agencies but becomes their responsibility, saying, \u201cParents allow their children to be taken away for child labor, prostitution, and other vices.
