{"id":156270,"date":"2025-03-23T19:13:07","date_gmt":"2025-03-23T18:13:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/senator-natashas-recall-process-deceitful-kogi-group-laments"},"modified":"2025-04-04T12:44:33","modified_gmt":"2025-04-04T11:44:33","slug":"senator-natashas-recall-process-deceitful-kogi-group-laments","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/policy\/senator-natashas-recall-process-deceitful-kogi-group-laments","title":{"rendered":"Senator Natasha\u2019s recall process deceitful \u2013 Kogi group laments"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Kogi Central People\u2019s Alliance (KOCEPA), has described the process for the recall of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan as fraught with deceit, mischief and manipulative fraud.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing a press conference at Ihima, Okehi LGA of Kogi State on Sunday, the Coordinator of KOCEPA, Abdulrazak Baba averred that the fraudulent move by some political gladiators to recall Akpoti-Uduaghan will not stand.<\/p>\n<p>According to Baba, many constituents were misled to come for empowerment program last week, where they were compelled to put down their signatures to begin the recall process.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cBy now, we are sure that all of you are aware that the public was deceived to believe that the manipulative recall charade was for the purpose of empowerment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is suffices to say that a genuine recall is supposed to be an organic process and not something engineered by a sat of opportunistic enemies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy now also, gentlemen of the press, you have known that the charade of last week did not hold in most polling units, wards and local government areas. Even the few areas where they were able to mislead people, they were chased away with pebbles, with curses and insults being heaped on them as seen in videos, voice notes and written texts in various platforms in Kogi Central Senatorial Zone.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey weaponized lies and deceits to take advantage of the not so-informed public. For instance, the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja issued a restraining order on Thursday 20th March, 2025 to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from receiving petitions regarding the recall of Senator Natasaha Akpoti Uduaghan, and this order subsists.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt may also interest you to know that, unlike Senator Natasha\u2019s true constituents who are known credible and patriotic individuals and associations in the society, the forces behind these shenanigans and facade called recall exercise have not been credible enough to be unmasked, at best, they are adhoc or ponzi organizations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe don\u2019t mind if anybody wants to test our senator\u2019s popularity, but we cannot underestimate the power of money in the Nigerian contemporary society and the manipulative powers of those who control the institutions of governance and the mindless abuse of security personnel by<\/p>\n<p>those who control the levers of power.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe operate a bizarre system where you can have 50 voters at the polling unit and a returning officer may return a result of 500,000 votes if not well monitored.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He, however, commended the Nigerian press for their patriotic and impartial role they have played in the suspension saga of Senator Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan, appealing to the Senate to immediately reinstate her unconditionally.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Nigeria<\/span> Follow <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Africa-Press<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria.
