Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Sokoto State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Idris Mohammed Gobir, has warned that supervising engineers will be held accountable for any substandard work executed during the ongoing renovation of schools across the state.<\/p>\n

Gobir issued the warning while inspecting renovation projects at Nagarta College and Government Girls College, Sokoto.<\/p>\n

He directed engineers to halt any substandard work immediately, emphasizing that both professionals and government representatives must ensure that taxpayers\u2019 money is not wasted.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe administration of Governor Ahmed Aliyu is committed to executing long-term projects that will benefit the entire state,\u201d Gobir stated, urging engineers to exercise their professional judgment in overseeing the projects.<\/p>\n

The Commissioner for Science and Technology, Professor Attahiru Ahmed Sifawa, who accompanied the deputy governor, noted that the visit helped identify areas requiring improvement. He assured that the ministry would ensure all school renovation projects adhere to approved specifications.<\/p>\n

Addressing the recent government directive requiring non-teaching staff to vacate school quarters, Sifawa affirmed that the ministry would enforce full compliance.<\/p>\n

He welcomed the decision, stating that it would enable teachers to reside within the schools they serve, thereby improving student supervision in dormitories.<\/p>\n
