{"id":158714,"date":"2025-04-06T21:00:24","date_gmt":"2025-04-06T20:00:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/fct-police-engage-armed-robbers-in-gun-duel-arrest-2-recover-stolen-cars"},"modified":"2025-04-07T11:31:27","modified_gmt":"2025-04-07T10:31:27","slug":"fct-police-engage-armed-robbers-in-gun-duel-arrest-2-recover-stolen-cars","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/all-news\/fct-police-engage-armed-robbers-in-gun-duel-arrest-2-recover-stolen-cars","title":{"rendered":"FCT: Police engage armed robbers in gun duel, arrest 2, recover stolen cars"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Police Command says its operatives have arrested two notorious armed robbers disturbing the peace of the nation\u2019s capital.<\/p>\n<p>Spokesperson of the command, SP Josephine Adeh said in a statement on Sunday that the arrest followed a distress call regarding an \u201congoing robbery\u201d at Royal Court Estate, Jahi II on March 27.<\/p>\n<p>She explained that upon arrival at the scene, the operatives were engaged in a gun duel by the hoodlums.<\/p>\n<p>According to the statement, the suspects were overpowered by the superior firepower of the police operatives and attempted to flee with gunshot injuries.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA hot pursuit ensued, leading to the arrest of two suspects \u2014 Rabiu Jubril and Ibrahim Isa \u2013 both residents of Tipper Garage, Jahi\u201d, she added.<\/p>\n<p>The police spokesperson said two locally made firearms, three suspected stolen vehicles: Black Toyota Matrix (Reg. No. NBS 348 CP), Black Toyota Venza (Reg. No. ABJ 105 AV) and a Grey Lexus IS350 (Reg. No. RSH 295 CB) were recovered from the suspects.<\/p>\n<p>Other items recovered include two MacBook Pro laptops, one Lenovo laptop, one iPad, one PS4 gaming console, one Canon IP1224 camera and one drone camera.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe suspects are currently in custody and will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Ajao S.
