Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Lagos State Police Command has announced the detention of seven murder suspects within a two-week period.<\/p>\n

The Command\u2019s spokesperson, Chief Superintendent of Police, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, made the disclosure while briefing journalists at the Command Headquarters in Lagos on Monday.<\/p>\n

According to Hundeyin, the Ikotun Division received a report on 30 March regarding a 46-year-old man who was allegedly stabbed in the chest with a broken bottle by a 36-year-old woman during an altercation at Abaranje.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe victim was rushed to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead. The suspect has been arrested, and the corpse has been deposited at a morgue for autopsy,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

Similarly, Hundeyin reported that on the same day, 30 March, a case was brought to the Ijora Badia Division involving a 38-year-old man who was allegedly beaten to a stupor by a 21-year-old male suspect along the railway line in Ijora Badia. The victim later died at Apapa General Hospital.<\/p>\n

In another incident, reported on 1 April, a concerned citizen from Badagry alerted authorities to a tragic occurrence in which a suspect\u2014currently at large\u2014allegedly opened fire on three elderly individuals aged 75, 70, and 59.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll the victims were rushed to Badagry General Hospital, where they were confirmed dead. The corpses have been deposited at the hospital morgue for autopsy. A 33-year-old man, who allegedly accompanied the prime suspect to the scene, was apprehended. The following day, 2 April, the wanted suspect was taken to hospital, where he was also confirmed dead,\u201d Hundeyin said.<\/p>\n

In a separate case, the police apprehended three murder suspects in the Agege area of the state. On 31 March, a complainant reported to the Abattoir Division that his 28-year-old younger brother had allegedly engaged in a fight with three individuals at the Abattoir Market, Agege.<\/p>\n

\u201cDuring the altercation, the victim was stabbed in the neck with a sharp object and died on the spot. Following the report, a team of detectives from the command visited the scene and arrested the three suspects,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Hundeyin also noted that on 26 March, a man was arrested in the Ojo area for allegedly beating his 27-year-old daughter to death.<\/p>\n

He concluded by stating that all the suspects will be charged in court upon the conclusion of investigations.<\/p>\n
