This decision came even after the 15th Emir, Aminu Ado Bayero, canceled his planned parallel Durbar.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing journalists shortly after submitting the petition, the group\u2019s leader, Barrister Usman Imam Tudun Wazirchi, insisted that the ban was unjustified.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe so-called security threat has no substantial basis. If Durbars could hold in high-risk states like Borno, Katsina, and Zamfara, why not in Kano? Even during the peak of Boko Haram\u2019s insurgency, such sweeping bans were not enforced,\u201d Tudun Wazirchi argued.<\/p>\n<p>The lawyers accused political actors and \u201cunpatriotic citizens\u201d of spreading fear to suppress the cultural celebration tied to Emir Sanusi\u2019s return to the palace.
