Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Deputy Governor of Kebbi State, Umar Abubakar Tafida, on Thursday, received Augustine Madubiya, the rescued student of the Federal University Birnin Kebbi, FUBK, who was abducted earlier this week.<\/p>\n

Madubiya was formally presented to the Deputy Governor and the Commissioner of Police, Bello Sani, by the Vice Chancellor of FUBK, Professor Muhammad Zayyan Umar, during an official visit to the university by the Deputy Governor and his entourage.<\/p>\n

Representing the Governor of Kebbi State, Nasir Idris, Senator Tafida commended the swift and effective efforts of the security operatives that led to the student\u2019s safe rescue.<\/p>\n

He noted that this successful operation, along with other recent interventions, highlights the increasing efficiency of the state\u2019s security agencies.<\/p>\n

He further reaffirmed the state government\u2019s commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of its citizens.<\/p>\n

While presenting the rescued student, Professor Zayyan Umar expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Kebbi State Government and the security agencies for their timely response.<\/p>\n

He also used the opportunity to appeal to relevant authorities and philanthropists to invest in the construction of student hostels within the university premises to enhance student safety.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the Commissioner of Police briefed the Deputy Governor, disclosing that the student was rescued through coordinated security intelligence and without the payment of a ransom.<\/p>\n

Following the presentation, the Deputy Governor, alongside security officials, inspected the Off-Campus Students\u2019 Hostel at Unguwar Jeji.<\/p>\n

Recall that Madubiya was abducted on Monday, April 8, 2025, when five armed men stormed Istijaba Villa, an off-campus hostel housing FUBK students.<\/p>\n
