President Muhammadu Buhari has declared that he is not known to be a generous person.<\/p>\n

He said this while receiving a delegation of members of Buhari Support Group Centre (BSGC) at the State House, Abuja, Thursday.<\/p>\n

Buhari, who spoke on the forthcoming National Honours Award, said the intention of the administration was to \u201cleave a better country for our children, and for coming generations,\u201d and those who partake in such national effort would be duly rewarded with National Honours.<\/p>\n

\u201cMany people are qualified for such honours. We are looking at it, and we will appreciate the contributions of such people,\u201d Buhari said.<\/p>\n

He commended members of BSGC, who have made immense personal sacrifices to support him since he joined partisan politics, adding that they did so out of personal conviction, \u201cbecause I\u2019m not known to be a very generous person.\u201d<\/p>\n

The President added: \u201cWhat you are doing can\u2019t be materially compensated. You are doing it out of conviction, at the expense of your pockets, and it is God that will reward you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking, Director General of BSGC, Umaru Dembo, said the group had sensitized Nigerians on the need to get their voter cards, keep them safe, \u201cand voting the right candidates during elections.\u201d<\/p>\n
