{"id":159794,"date":"2025-04-17T22:02:58","date_gmt":"2025-04-17T21:02:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/kolmani-oil-abandoned-for-political-reasons-northern-nigeria-sidelined-from-cng-baccima"},"modified":"2025-04-22T21:53:43","modified_gmt":"2025-04-22T20:53:43","slug":"kolmani-oil-abandoned-for-political-reasons-northern-nigeria-sidelined-from-cng-baccima","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/policy\/kolmani-oil-abandoned-for-political-reasons-northern-nigeria-sidelined-from-cng-baccima","title":{"rendered":"Kolmani oil abandoned for political reasons, Northern Nigeria sidelined from CNG \u2014 BACCIMA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Bauchi Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture, BACCIMA, has accused President Bola Tinubu\u2019s administration of allegedly abandoning the Kolmani oil project in Bauchi State for political reasons, demanding immediate action and accountability over the halted oil lifting.<\/p>\n<p>It lamented that despite the billions of dollars already invested and commissioned by former President Muhammadu Buhari, nothing seems to have changed.<\/p>\n<p>The demand for accountability was made by the President of BACCIMA, Aminu Danmaliki, during a press conference in Bauchi on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>This is as BACCIMA decried the alleged exclusion of the Northern Nigeria from the Compressed Natural Gas, CNG, Presidential Initiative, a move it says undermines the constitutional principle of Federal Character and denies the region a vital opportunity to participate in the nation\u2019s energy transition and economic development.<\/p>\n<p>The BACCIMA President Danmaliki, raised concern over what he described as the growing sense of marginalization and systemic neglect felt by many in Northern Nigeria, declaring, \u201cEnough is enough. We are not here to complain \u2014 we are here to lead, propose solutions, demand equity, and take responsibility for shaping our future.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He also expressed concern over the devastation caused by Boko Haram, which has killed and maimed hundreds of thousands, mostly Muslims.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBoko Haram is not native to our people. It is being driven by external forces, with collaborators inside Nigeria, supported by the U.S. and its Western allies. Their actions have destroyed lives, scared off investors, and crippled our local economies with the aim of weakening the North.\u201d he said<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur economy cannot develop in fear. We call on the Federal Government, Intelligent Agencies and our International Partners to investigate and expose the sponsors of insecurity which the Federal Government knows them, the North must be safe for growth. He added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFurthermore, the oil discovered in Kolmani in Bauchi State which was commissioned by President Muhammadu Buhari after spending billions of Dollars was thrown overboard for political reason by President Tinubu, shamelessly, the lifting of the oil has been denied.Why has this administration done this?
