Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Uche Secondus has said he weeps for Rivers State.<\/p>\n

According to Secondus, the activities of the Rivers Sole Administrator Ibok-Ete Ibas, have set the state on a keg of gunpowder<\/p>\n

This was contained in an Easter message released through his Special Adviser on Media, Ike Abonyi.<\/p>\n

He also implored President Bola Tinubu to resist misguided advice and restore Governor Siminalayi Fubara, who has the mandate of the people.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe President should… be guided by the voice of reason by restoring Governor Similaya Fubara, who has the mandate of the people,\u201d Secondus said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Sole Administrator activities have set Rivers State on a keg of gunpowder, and I weep for my state. Sadly Rivers State has found itself on the ugly side of history over the control of Resources and the state by one man.\u201d<\/p>\n

Secondus further praised the Ijaw nation for their restraint, noting, \u201cMy special appreciation goes to the Ijaw nation, its leaders and people, the indisputable fourth largest ethnic group in Nigeria with over 30 LGAs across seven states, for managing the provocations.\u201d<\/p>\n

Additionally, he urged Christians to embody Christ\u2019s love and piety.<\/p>\n

\u201cEaster period reminds us of brotherly love, peaceful co-existence, tolerance, honesty, humility, justice, equity and fairness to all without discrimination as contained in the Scriptures,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

This is coming a few days after the Ad-Hoc Committee on Rivers State oversight, invited Ibas to appear before it for an interactive session regarding the affairs of the state.<\/p>\n

DAILY POST reports that President Tinubu had a few weeks ago declared a state of emergency in Rivers State following the prolonged political crisis in the south-south state.<\/p>\n

Tinubu also suspended Fubara, his deputy, and the members of the state assembly.<\/p>\n

Tinubu later nominated Ibas as the administrator of Rivers State.<\/p>\n
